Best US Travel Destinations by Category

Are you itching for a getaway? We won’t be able to travel internationally this summer and many of us are searching for the best places to vacation in the US.

So I thought I’d share some of my favorite US destinations by category…

GROWN UP GETAWAY…

For a relaxing getaway with lots of pampering and spectacular outdoor activities check out this adult-only property in Arizona... Castle Hot Springs

FAMILY VACATION…

No other state has so much to offer! From the spectacular wine country to the rugged National Parks, the vibrant cities, and the breathtaking views along the coast, California is a perfect state to explore with the family.

Renting a car is your best option to explore. Starting from the north or south of the state you don’t want to miss the spectacular drive along Highway 1. Your itinerary can be designed based on the amount of time you have. To visit most of the state you’ll need at least 2 weeks.

BEACH GETAWAY…

The state of Florida has no shortage of beautiful beaches on both coasts. Enjoy the vibrant city of Miami and South Beach. Or for a little more peace and quiet head a bit north to Palm Beach. The Breakers is a beautiful resort in Palm Beach scheduled to re-open on July 1st. On the west coast enjoy the beautiful beaches of Naples, Sanibel or Captiva Island.

BEST FOR VILLA RENTALS…

These days many travelers are looking for private villa rentals for their next vacation. My favorite US destination for villa rentals is Hilton Head Island in South Carolina. The villas are luxurious with state-of-the-art kitchens, private pools and so much more. Step outside your villa to endless bike paths, many golf courses, ice cream shops, miniature golf courses, and movie theaters. All this plus a beautiful beach makes Hilton Head one of my favorite US destinations.

To get there it’s about a 14-hour drive from the NY area or a short flight to Savannah and then an hour drive to Hilton Head.

I hope these ideas are helpful if you’re trying to figure out where to escape to after being cocooned for the past few months. International travel will return, but until then, these are some great options for enjoying our beautiful country.
