5 REASONS TO FALL IN LOVE WITH PARIS
I just returned from 2 weeks in Europe including 5 lovely nights in Paris. The last time I was there was 19 years ago and I have totally fallen in love with Paris all over again. So I wanted to share with you why I think it’s such an amazing city where one can easily spend an entire week and still not see it all. Plus, you can also enjoy spectacular day trips outside of the city. I’ll write about day trips in a future blog. For now… here is why I fell in love with Paris…
ARCHITECTURE – The glamorous buildings at every turn, the lamplit bridges along the Seine and, of course, the majestic Eiffel Tower peeking through buildings and landscapes… you can experience the beautiful architecture as you wander through all the Parisian neighborhoods. It’s quite magical!
BISTRO SCENE – Parisian streets are lined with endless French bistros. All with beautiful outdoor seating where people are having a meal or simply relaxing and enjoying each other’s company while sipping their wines.
EXQUISITE FOOD – The beauty of this city’s food scene is that you can have the most amazing meal whether at a classic bistro or at a Michelin starred restaurant. The food is prepared with the freshest ingredients, beautifully presented, and with the best wine offerings. Oh, and let’s not forget the boulangeries (bakeries). The bread in France simply tastes better! And you won’t feel guilty about it because you’ll walk it off in this spectacular city.
MUSEUMS – Paris holds some of the world’s greatest masterpieces. You can spend several days at the Louvre (a former palace where you'll see the Mona Lisa and the Venus de Milo), or you can opt to visit with a guide for a couple of hours for the highlights tour. Then there’s the lovely Musée d’Orsay with its impressionist collection, plus many other smaller museums holding beautiful exhibitions. So the art lover can spend days here marveling at the masterpieces!
PARKS & GARDENS – Paris’ magnificent parks and gardens contribute to the magic of this city. The many green spaces include royal gardens and beautiful promenades. Here are a couple of my favorites… Luxembourg Gardens located in the heart of Paris, on the left bank, have the most immaculate grounds. You can easily spend the day here, with seating all around it's the perfect spot to bring a bottle of your favorite wine!… my other favorite was Tuileries Gardens, the largest public gardens in Paris. This promenade spans from Place du Carrousel (by the Louvre), all the way to Place de la Concorde.
Paris should be on your list of places to visit. I promise you it’s a magical city you will want to explore again and again. I would be honored to help plan your trip. Contact me for your complimentary consultation.
