Our Favorite Warm Destinations for Winter Travel

Below are some of my favorite destinations for spectacular beaches, scenery, and pure relaxation…

Anguilla

For beaches, golf, and great cuisine, Anguilla is the perfect island. This pristine island has 33 beaches, and many beach bars and restaurants. One of my favorite things about Anguilla is that most restaurants sit right on the beaches. From small food shacks to fancy restaurants, you can enjoy lovely meals with your feet in the sand listening to the sound of the ocean. Aside from water activities and boat charters, Anguilla is a great golf destination with an 18-hole championship golf course set against breathtaking sea views.

Costa Rica

There are very few places in the world that offer such an incredible diversity of scenery, climate and vacation pleasures. This small country in Central America offers beautiful tropical beaches, majestic volcanoes, sports fishing, whitewater rafting, mountain biking, zip lining, and the peaceful serenity of mountain resorts with hot springs and incredible views.

The Maldives

Hundreds of small islands with a single resort on each one. Start your vacation by arriving at your selected island on a sea plane from the main airport. The water is spectacular and resorts offer spas, bars, restaurants, and water activities. Jump into the clearest ocean to snorkel right from your luxurious overwater bungalow. Relax, enjoy the ocean and your private plunge pool. The Maldives are pure relaxation and nothing beats them for a romantic getaway!

St. Barts

St. Barts is an exclusive island in the French West Indies where you can enjoy stunning hotels, pristine beaches, waterfront bistros (with exquisite French cuisine), and chic shops and galleries. St. Barts has the perfect blend of European charm, natural beauty, and relaxed island vibe. It is a dream destination with views of white sand beaches backed by rolling hills and charming coastal villages. And let’s not forget the clearest waters and coral reefs off of the most spectacular secluded coves.

St. John, USVI

I don’t often return to places time and time again because there is so much of the world to explore. But, I’ll confess, I have visited St. John more than once! The island is simply spectacular. The beaches are unspoiled as they back into the national park. This lush and mountainous island offers the most stunning views everywhere you turn. St. John is the perfect island for a villa rental. Imagine your villa perched high on a cliff overlooking some of the world’s best beaches. Rent a Jeep and go beach hopping, enjoy snorkeling, hiking, kayaking, and have the most wonderful time on St. John. Some beaches are accessible only via a hike and totally worth it!

St. Lucia

The uniqueness of St. Lucia is its lush and volcanic landscape, and it offers a range of activities unlike any other Caribbean island. Some of the activities to enjoy on St. Lucia include driving into a volcano, hiking in a rainforest to a beautiful waterfall, horseback riding, ziplining, a bean to bar chocolate experience, and enjoying the most spectacular mountainous views. Lush rainforests, stunning landscapes, fun activities, and beautiful beaches make for an unforgettable Caribbean island vacation.

Turks & Caicos

The Turks & Caicos islands have one of the largest coral reefs in the world. My favorite way to spend a day is renting a private boat, stopping in many lovely and secluded cays for swimming and enjoying magnificent snorkeling opportunities. The waters of the Turks & Caicos truly have the most incredible hues of turquoise and aquamarine, like nothing I’ve ever seen anywhere else in the Caribbean. This is the reason why people fall in love with these islands and return time and time again.
